About Me

Hi, I'm Amy ,a soon-to-be graduate in photography with a passion for storytelling through images. Over the past year, my work has centered around capturing the lives of elderly individuals—most notably, my grandad—in care homes. This personal project grew into something deeper: a way to explore and open conversations around aging, memory, and dementia.

Through my lens, I aim to shine a light on the often-overlooked experiences of older generations. My photography seeks to evoke empathy, understanding, and reflection, especially on subjects like dementia that can feel distant until they touch our lives directly.

As I move forward in my career, I’m committed to using photography not just as an art form, but as a tool for awareness, connection, and change

Degree Show exhibition

Through Their Eyes is a portrait project that focuses on the elderly, capturing honest moments through direct eye contact. It looks at themes like aging, dementia, and the idea of letting go—both of memories and time itself. The eyes in each image tell their own story, offering a quiet but powerful connection between the viewer and the person in front of the lens. It’s about seeing the person behind the years, and how much can still be said without words
